UK Wildings
About UK Wildings
The definitive series of Queen Elizabeth II featuring photographs by Dorothy Wilding. The Wildings were the first UK stamps with the new queen and were used from 1952 to 1967. Multiple values and colors were issued. The 1953 2 shilling 6 pence blue and 5 shilling red are the most collectible. Regionals for Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland featured local designs alongside the Wilding portrait. The series was replaced by the Machin definitives in 1967.
