US Prominent Americans

About US Prominent Americans

A definitive series featuring notable Americans including Franklin, Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Carnegie. The series introduced large format portraits with simple frames. The 5 cent Washington is the most common. The 1 dollar Eugene O Neill stamp is notable for being the first US stamp to feature a living person on a test printing. The series ran until the Americana series replaced it in 1975. The Prominent Americans are collected by format and paper type.
