US 1938 Presidential Series
About US 1938 Presidential Series
A definitive series featuring all 29 US presidents from Washington through Hoover in order of their presidencies. The series was issued in chronological order from 1 cent Washington to 5 dollar Calvin Coolidge. Only deceased presidents were included. The 32 denominations matched the presidential sequence. The Presidential series was widely collected and boosted interest in stamp collecting during the Depression. The series ran until the Liberty series replaced it in 1954.
