US Lunar New Year
About US Lunar New Year
A series of 12 stamps featuring the animals of the Chinese zodiac. Issued annually from 1992 to 2004, then restarted in 2005 and again in 2020. Each year features a different zodiac animal designed by an Asian American artist. The Lunar New Year stamps are the most culturally diverse series in US postal history. The intricate designs incorporate traditional Chinese paper cutting and folk art motifs. The series is collected by Asian Americans and mainstream collectors alike.
