US Flag Series
About US Flag Series
A long running series featuring the American flag in various artistic treatments. The 1981 18 cent flag on a building was the first. The series continued with the flag over different landmarks and settings. The flag series is one of the most common US stamp series. Coil, booklet, and sheet versions exist for most denominations. The self adhesive flag stamps introduced in the 1990s transformed US stamp production. The flag remains a perennial subject for US stamps.
