About US Famous Americans
A series of 35 stamps honoring famous Americans in five categories: authors, poets, educators, scientists, and composers. Included Mark Twain, Walt Whitman, Jane Addams, Thomas Edison, and Stephen Foster. Five denominations from 1 to 10 cents. The series was issued in groups over several months. The Famous Americans series was the largest US commemorative set to date and educated the public about important cultural figures.
