US Celebrate the Century

About US Celebrate the Century

A massive series of 150 stamps celebrating the 20th century decade by decade. 15 stamps were issued for each decade from the 1900s to the 1990s. Subjects included the Model T Ford, Lindbergh flight, I Love Lucy, and the personal computer. The public voted on subjects for the 1950s through 1990s stamps. Over 50 million votes were cast. The series was the largest commemorative program in US history and introduced stamp collecting to a new generation.
