US Bluebird

About US Bluebird

A stamp featuring the eastern bluebird, a symbol of happiness in American culture. The bluebird population declined due to competition from invasive species but recovered thanks to nest box programs. The bluebird stamp was part of the State Birds series. Arthur Singer illustrated the design. The bluebird is the state bird of New York and Missouri. The stamp helped raise awareness of bluebird conservation efforts.
