UK Edward VIII
About UK Edward VIII
The definitive stamps of King Edward VIII, issued during his brief 325 day reign in 1936. Featured a simple left facing portrait. Only four values were issued before his abdication. The Edward VIII stamps were withdrawn after the abdication but were valid for postage until 1937. The stamps are collected as a short lived issue representing the constitutional crisis. The simplicity of the design reflected Edwards preference for modern minimalism.
