About UK Comet Stamp
A stamp commemorating the passing of Halleys Comet in 1986. Part of a set of astronomy themed stamps. The Comet stamp featured the Bayeux Tapestry depiction of the 1066 comet. The UK issued astronomy stamps to mark the return of Halleys Comet, one of the most anticipated astronomical events of the century. The stamps were collected by both astronomy enthusiasts and stamp collectors.
