Pitcairn Islands Stamp
About Pitcairn Islands Stamp
Stamps of Pitcairn Island, home to descendants of the Bounty mutineers. The first stamps were issued in 1940, overprinted on Fiji stamps. Pitcairn stamps feature the history of the Bounty, local scenery, and marine life. With only about 50 residents, Pitcairn has the smallest population of any stamp issuing entity. Pitcairn stamps are a major source of revenue for the island. The stamps are collected worldwide and are valued for their exotic origin.
