About Japanese Prefecture Series
A series of stamps featuring the 47 prefectures of Japan. Each prefecture received two designs showcasing local landmarks, festivals, or products. Issued in groups over several years. The prefecture series is one of the most comprehensive Japanese commemorative programs. Each design was created by artists from the featured prefecture. The series is collected as a complete set documenting Japanese regional culture and geography.
