About Czechoslovak Hradcany
The first stamps of independent Czechoslovakia, featuring Hradcany Castle in Prague. Designed by Alphonse Mucha, the famous Art Nouveau artist. The Hradcany series was issued in multiple printings from 1918 to 1921. Mucha contributed his artistic prestige to the new nation stamps. Czechoslovak stamps are collected for their artistic quality, reflecting the rich Czech tradition in graphic design and illustration. The Mucha stamps established a standard of excellence.
