Brazil Bullseye
About Brazil Bullseye
The first stamps of Brazil and the third country after Britain to issue stamps. Featured large numeral values of 30, 60, and 90 reis in an oval design resembling an eye, hence the nickname. Printed from plates of 18. The 90 reis is the rarest. The Bullseyes were printed without perforations on colored paper. Brazil was remarkably early in adopting stamps, ahead of most European nations. The simple but effective design served the vast South American country well.
