About Geneva Double Stamp
An unusual stamp from the Canton of Geneva that could be cut in half for two separate uses. Featured the arms of Geneva with the inscription Poste de Geneve. The design was printed in pairs that could be split. The stamp was valid for local Geneva mail. Only about 20,000 were printed. The Geneva Double is one of the earliest adhesive stamps in the world, predating most countries. It is collected as a classic rarity of early philately.
